Lake Helen Postcards from Zazzle.com. Snow in August in California! And, it was left over from the winter before. This is photo of Lassen Peak's reflection in Lake Helen along with an "iceberg". The highway that winds through Lassen Volcanic National Park doesn't have the highest summit in California, but it is closed much of the year due to deep snow.
