Driving past Matanuska River in Southcenteral Alaska. The Matanuska really isn't that long. It originates at a glacier that isn't that far from the Cook Inlet and yet it still flows in the winter. I always found that interesting. Glaciers melt even in the wintertime. Must be heat caused by friction of the weight of the glacier? Hmm...
